EQMOD
EQMOD is more than just an ASCOM driver for Skywatcher (and clone) telescope mounts. It is a fully functional ASCOM hub that enables multiple connections to the mount which means that different programs can send instructions and receive feedback from the mount at the same time.
The interface seen in the image has a number of functions, some of which I'll describe here.
1. This is the panel expand button that opens up the advanced options seen on the right.
2. This part of the interface sets options for the alignment and synchronisation options. When set to Dialog based, the computer is able to write alignment point data from plate solves to the mount's configuration file to improve the accuracy of the pointing model.
3. Mount Limits can be set to prevent the telescope pointing in directions where there could be a collision between the telescope and the tripod. It's also possible when a permanent observatory is in use to define positions that are blocked by buildings.
4. Pulse Guide rate setting can be adjusted to ensure guiding software such as PHD2 is able to properly adjust the telescope's position in response to feedback from a guide camera.
More information can be found on the EQMOD website.
